Kenya Airways Resumes Night Flights at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
Wednesday, 23 December 2009 02:19

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) - the aviation regulatory authority -  has advised that the  runway lighting system has been restored and now meets ICAO standards and Kenya airways safety requirements,  therefore it is safe for the planes to takeoff and land at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at night.

Kenya Airways suspended its services on Tuesday following a NOTAM (Notice to Air Men) from KCAA that the runway threshold lights at JKIA do not meet the minimum requirements for a safe night operations as required by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
